Grade 7: GBP 34,389 - GBP 39,533 per annum
(Plus GBP 5,000 market premium payable after the completion of a successful probation)
Full time - 37 Hours per week
Kent Fire & Rescue Service is looking for a developer to join our busy IT development team to work with us on a range of exciting projects, including developing software used by front-line firefighters.
You will be part of a small team that develops and maintains in-house IT solutions for the entire organisation across a wide range of technologies and business areas. We develop apps, build integrations and extend off the shelf products to meet business needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic developer to make a direct contribution to public safety through the innovative application of technology.
You will have a strong developer mind-set and background and will have experience across the whole software development life cycle. You will be a good communicator, team player and analytical thinker with an eye for detail.
You will have experience of working with Microsoft tools and technologies (e.g. C#, Visual Studio) but will also ideally have experience with other technologies including database design and development with SQL Server (including TSQL and SSIS), web development (e.g. ASP.NET / Core, HTML, Javascript) and data exchange technologies (e.g. XML, JSON).
Preferably you will have had some exposure to:
? Message queuing technologies and concepts
? Agile software development principles and practices
? Test driven development
? Source control with git.
